Cleaning up the park

ON the night of March 10 Glennie Heights Joeys and Cub Scouts met at Queen’s Park to do their bit for Clean Up Australia Day.

Armed with gloves and rubbish bags, the Joeys and Cubs spent most of their time walking from the skate bowl around to the end of the hockey fields on the hunt for any stray bits of rubbish.

Before embarking on their search for rubbish the Joeys and Cubs chose to donate their weekly subs money to Melanie Jamieson for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave.

At the end of the night the Joeys and Cubs played recycling games and finished off the night with a well-deserved sausage sizzle before heading home.
