Sea Eagles fan is not crowing yet

FOR 40 years Trevor Perks has been a proud supporter of the mighty Manly Sea Eagles, collecting every form of memorabilia there is.

And tomorrow he will be glued to his television screen watching his beloved team go head-to-head with the Sydney Roosters in the NRL 2013 Grand Final.

Perks, who was born in New South Wales, said his love of the maroon and white started when he was just a kid.

"I have always loved eagles and that is how I got into the team," he said.

"I even have a tattoo of one.

"I have played rugby league all my life.

"It is just a great game."

But Perks admits he is a bit worried about what tomorrow night's outcome will be.

"They (the Roosters) got us 4-0 the last time they played.

"Good defence will be the key and then scoring some tries."

As a long time fan, Perks' all-time favourite Manly player is Steve Menzies.

Of those playing tomorrow, Perks' picks include Steve Matai and the Stewart brothers.

"It is too hard to pick a favourite though, I love them all," Perks said.

Perks plans to move his big screen television to the Manly-themed bar area, kick back with a couple of beers and a barbecue to watch tomorrow's big game.

But if Manly wins not everyone in the Perks household will be happy.

Perks' middle daughter Brie is a Roosters fan.

"I still remember the day I picked the Roosters as my team," Brie said.

"I was sitting on the coach watching the football with dad and he asked me who my favourite team was.

"I was only little and the first team that came into my mind was the Roosters."

But Brie said she would play the supportive daughter should the Roosters walk away winners.

"I will be handing dad a box of tissues," she said.
