Sean Kingston 'blessed' to be alive

SEAN Kingston said it was "God's work" that kept him alive after he suffered a near fatal jet-ski crash.

The 21-year-old singer - who was hospitalised for three weeks following an accident in Miami Beach in May, from which he suffered a shattered wrist, broken jaw and water inhalation - feels "blessed" to have survived the collision, which left him requiring two bouts of open heart surgery on a torn aorta.

He told 'Today': "It's a blessing. It's definitely, you know ... God is great. I feel like I'm blessed, overcome a tragic situation. Definitely trauma and for me to still be here ... it's only God's work ... I think my work is not done. I think it was just like, you know, it wasn't my time yet."

Following the crash, the 'Beautiful Girls' hitmaker has shed 50 pounds of weight after working out on the treadmill and playing a lot of basketball, which has made him feel "a lot better".

He explained to MTV: "Actually, I shed like 45 pounds, and I've been working out every day. So I've been really getting my healthiness [together].

"Right now, I do the bicycle, I do the treadmill, I play basketball. But I got to keep it up and lose more weight.

"It's easy to gain weight when you're in the studio. That's how it first started out but I'm cutting all that out. I don't eat after 6 p.m., and then I really just do the treadmill, and that's what it is. I feel a lot better."
