Second grass fire for the day on Granite Belt
FIRE fighters are letting the unburnt section of a grass paddock west of Stanthorpe burn after it caught fire for the second time in a month at 3pm today.
Senior Constable Paul Condon, of Stanthorpe police, said the fire started accidentally.
"Fire fighters are on the scene and are letting the paddock burn in a controlled way so there is no chance of it happening again this season," Snr Const Condon said.
The fire was 5km west of Stanthorpe in the Broadwater area.
There was a grass fire earlier today at Dalveen.
