A CROWD of more than 2000 was on hand for the annual Rose City Shoppingworld Carols in the Park on Sunday night.

The performers faced south-east after the youth stage was used for the first time for the carols.

Organiser Erin Hilton was delighted with the crowd.

"The weather was nice for the carols, the crowd was spread out a lot more this year," Mrs Hilton said.

There were 14 musical performers and 16 dancers from The Dance Centre who entertained from 5pm on Sunday night in Leslie Park. Marco Gliori was MC.

Assumption College student Jade Moon sang for the first time at the carols.

It was the first time Jada and Shardae Wright danced and sang on the same night at the carols.
