Segeyaro on the outer at Penrith Panthers

PENRITH hooker James Segeyaro has been told he has no future at the foot of the mountains beyond 2016.

Penrith general manager of football Phil Gould said the 25-year-old (pictured), who was dropped for the clash with Melbourne at AAMI Park on Saturday night, would not be offered a deal for next year.

"That's a salary cap issue, I don't think we're going to be able to offer James a contract for next year and we've already told him that," Gould told Sky Sports Radio.

The Panthers' decision comes just nine days after the livewire No.9 was warned by NSW Police for allegedly consorting with criminal figures.

Gould added the club and winger Josh Mansour had been in talks in an effort to get the New South Wales representative to commit beyond this season.

"The difficulty of the salary cap is we've got some emerging talent at Penrith and we've got to fit them all in," Gould said.

"Josh's value has increased incredibly."
