Semi takes out traffic lights at Warwick intersection

A SEMI-TRAILER has smashed into a set of traffic lights while turning at a Warwick intersection overnight.

The semi was turning left into Guy St from Wood St when it smashed into a set of lights.

The crash occurred at 8.30pm.

Warwick police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Jamie Deacon said no action was taken against the driver.

"It's likely he will get a bill from the council or Main Roads," he said.

"There are offences for that, but for whatever reason it seems it hasn't been deemed an offence."

The set of traffic lights remains out this morning.
