Senator-elect here for afternoon tea
SENATOR-ELECT, Matt Canavan will be talking to residents of the Granite Belt at a function organised by the Granite Belt LNP Women next Saturday.
Party member Mary Rofe said locals claimed Matt as a local.
"He hails from Toowoomba, and his focus will be very much on regional issues when he takes his seat in the Senate, replacing long-standing champion of small business, Senator Ron Boswell," she said.
An open invitation is extended to people in the area to attend and hear him speak at St Paul's Hall, Corundum St, on Saturday.
Afternoon tea commences at 2pm and the theme is Valentine's Day.
For several weeks, members have been selling raffle tickets in the grand Valentine's Day raffle, which is multi-draw with plenty of fabulous prizes.
Admission is only $10 for a scrumptious afternoon tea.
