Seven gain rep honours

JESSICA Hoey tried orienteering two years ago because it was a different thing to do – now she, along with two schoolmates, will represent Darling Downs.

This year Scots PGC will be well represented at regional sporting competitions, with seven students gaining Darling Downs selection.

Jessica, along with Cassie Heaslip and Tom Montgomery, will have their mapping skills tested in a couple of months when they contest the state competition at Ipswich.

Rugby players Matt Burke and Laurens Black were selected in the under 15 and U18 squads. They will compete at the Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton.

It may be the off-season for swimmer Matt Kanowski but the Year 12 student, who has been selected into the regional squad five times, said he was keeping fit.

Netballer Jessica Ogden was also selected into the Darling Downs squad.
