RUNNING: Seven hundred runners have nominated so far for the Daily News Pentath-run on May 20-21.

Pentath-run committee president Karen Gilchrist said of the 700 runners, 326 had nominated in all five events.

"Dan Symonds is one of our ambassadors and has nominated again after winning in 2015 and coming second last year,” Gilchrist said.

"There are lots of runners from Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine coasts and well down into New South Wales.”

Former Broncos forward Shane Webcke will be a special guest at the Warwick Credit Union Cross Country over 4.6km at the Allora Golf Club.

The cross country starts at 11.30am on May 20 at Allora.

The Saturday night dinner has been brought back and world masters cycling gold medallist John Eder will be guest speaker.

Tickets for the May 20 dinner can be bought online through the nomination process or people who want to support the dinner but aren't competitors can call Gilchrist on 0410 810 273.

Numbers for the dinner at the Warwick Christian College will close in early May so those keen to go are asked to book or call as soon as possible.

There is an added incentive to nominate or volunteer as all participants in the pentath-run can apply to be in the running to win a 12-month, online scholarship to complete a Certificate 3 in fitness through Onfit valued at $2500.

Find out how to apply on the Pentath-run Facebook page.
