Five in head-on crash on Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd

UPDATE: Five people have escaped without injuries after a head-on crash on Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd on Friday afternoon.

A 31-year-old Toogoom mother and three children were travelling along Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd, away from Hervey Bay, when their Toyota four-wheel drive and a blue Ford ute, being driven by a man, collided.

The ute, which was towing a boat, sustained the worst damage.

Sergeant Darryn Morris said witnesses were being interviewed in an effort to established whether either driver was at fault but confirmed alcohol was not a factor.

EARLIER: Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd, near Petersens Rd, at Craignish, where up to seven people, including young children, are being treated.

The crash happened about 1pm.
