Severe wind warning issued for the Darling Downs

DAMAGING winds of up to 90kmh are predicted for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt this afternoon, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has warned.

Ex Tropical Cyclone Oswald is now located over the central interior of Queensland and is moving south southeast at around 15 km/h.

Gusty conditions are at this stage expected to extend over the weekend for the region, particularly on Saturday night and into Sunday.

Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees and secure loose outdoor items.
