Shane has an easy win

SHANE Parry inflicted two eight counts on his opponent before recording his first win at Gatton on Saturday night.

Parry is a member of the Warwick Boxing Club and fought Kurt Sernerfen, of Ipswich, over three rounds.

The referee put two counts on Sernerfen in the third round before the Warwick boxer won a unanimous points decision in the 70kg division.

Parry will now go up to the 75kg division to fight Craig Mitchell, of Roma, at Chinchilla on Saturday.

Mitchell is trained by former Warwick Warriors Boxing Club trainer Dick Schubert.

The Warwick boxer goes into the fight with a record of one win, one draw and one loss.

Parry is trained in Warwick by his father Rodd Parry. His grandfather Roy Parry is also part of the training team at the gym in Albert Street.

Brittany Wallace wasn’t matched at Gatton but will have an exhibition bout against Isabella Schubert, of Roma, at Chinchilla.
