Shark attack victim stronger after great white attack

IT HAS been just over five months since Mat Lee was attacked by a great white shark while bodyboarding at Speeds Reef, Ballina.

The Mathew Lee Official Support Facebook page has reported that he is recovering well.

"The love and support he has received throughout this time has been absolutely amazing," the post says.

"Mat has been so dedicated and committed to his rehab since returning back home in September.

"He has been seeing a private physio twice a week, alongside with his daily exercises, he is getting stronger and is seeing improvements frequently.

"He has also been swimming laps in the Ballina pool which has been very beneficial to his mental and physical wellbeing."

Two fundraising event sheld in October raised $6500 and Mr Lee will donate half of the proceeds to the Ballina Lighthouse and Lismore Surf Life Saving Club.
