Shears donated to help ambos on the job

EACH paramedic at the Queensland Ambulance Service Warwick station has a new set of Leatherman shears following a donation from the Warwick Local Ambulance Committee.

Vice-president John Brady was on hand at the Warwick Ambulance Station for the presentation of the shears.

"The shears are perfect to cut seatbelts, clothing or seat covers to be able to treat patients,” Mr Brady said.

"As a retired ambulance officer, I know they would have been handy when I was with the ambulance.”

The shears are mounted on the belt of each medic so are immediately available when the QAS arrives on scene. The shears are not supplied to each paramedic in the QAS.

The LAC also donated two new reclina-rocker chairs for Warwick paramedics to use as they wait for call-outs.
