Rural ambassador excited to promote Warwick show
STARTING an agricultural industry education-based project to show young children where their food and clothes come from is one of the aims of new Warwick Show Rural Ambassador Shelley Doyle.
Ms Doyle was named ambassador on Saturday night and can't wait to get to work promoting her show and community.
"I want to see children see a cow milked and a sheep shorn with an explanation that the fleece is manufactured into clothing," she said.
"Children need to see where it all starts."
She spent her early childhood at Spring Creek but now lives at Freestone.
The Rural Ambassador will be busy at the Warwick Show in her new role and as chief steward of the stud cattle and led steer sections.
"I can't wait to hit the ground running with ideas to take to the table at the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society," she said.
There are many more ideas than her education push.
"I want to get more young people involved in the show," she said.
