Shirtless biff ends in court

A TEEN'S shirtless antics and fruitless attempts at avoiding arrest have left him out of pocket.

Steven Luke Pittman appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court this week, where he pleaded guilty to public nuisance and obstruct police.

The court heard Warwick Police responded to a complaint that a group of youths were creating a disturbance about midnight on April 11.

On arrival at the scene, police found Pittman and a fellow teenager with their shirts off and beginning to fight.

Police broke up the fight and separated the teens but Pittman resisted officers, waving his arms to avoid being handcuffed.

Even when he was eventually handcuffed, Pittman did not give up his fight.

He dropped to the ground, forcing officers to carry him part of the way to their vehicle.

Defence lawyer Phillip Crook told the court his client was not the aggressor in the fight.

The 18-year-old was this week fined $350 and no conviction was recorded.
