SHOOTING: The Toowoomba Clay Target Club held a spectacular three days of sporting clays competition at the weekend at the Cherrabah Resort at Elbow Valley.

A record number of 280 shooters nominated for Saturday and Sunday after 130 nominated for the side-by-side event on Friday.

Two side-by-side shotguns were won at this event.

The first was won in the highgun by Brett Chambellant and the second was from a drawn score necessitating a shootoff with Chris Chapman being the victor.

Conditions were ideal and some top scores were recorded over the whole weekend. World No.1 sporting shooter, Damien Birgan won the overall for the weekend events and took out the highgun with a top score of 193/200. He also shot the only possible for the weekend.

Keith Cameron (NSW) also won a shotgun by shooting the drawn score.
