Short circuit racing this weekend at Morgan Park
ROUND 1 of the Short Circuit Motor Sport Association series will be at Morgan Park Raceway this weekend.
There will be 70 drivers in action.
The weekend will conclude with State of Origin action between Queensland and New South Wales where five drivers from each state do a fast lap and the times are added together to determine the winner.
Last season, Warwick driver Jason O'Mara was first overall and first in his class in the series.
There are three rounds of the series this year at Morgan Park and one at Carnell Raceway at Stanthorpe.
As the name of the association indicates, racing will be on the short circuit which was the original dirt circuit at Morgan Park.
Kart racing
THE Warwick Karting Club will hold round 2 of the club championships at Sandy Creek Raceway this weekend.
Practise will be Saturday and racing from 9am Sunday.
Club officials expect 60 drivers from as far as Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Lismore to compete.
Sportsmen Enduro Karting Queensland will hold an enduro round on March 17-18 with Warwick driver Nic Lane and Simon Ham defending their state title.
Polocrosse start
THE first polocrosse carnival in our region this year will be the Clifton club carnival on April 28-29.
This will be a multi horse carnival where players can test a different horse in each game.
The Barastoc Interstate Series and Shell Cup is at Morgan Park on May 4-6 and then the Killarney carnival will be played on May 12-13.
The last carnival of the year will be the Colliers International Toowoomba Queensland State Championships on August 31-September 2 hosted by Cunningham at Bony Mountain Recreation Reserve.
