Show is a critical part of regional experience
FROM Paraguay to the Clifton Show - 23-year-old Kenneth Unger has seen it all.
After graduating from high school in 2009, Mr Unger followed his passion for santa gertrudis cattle to regional Australia, visiting studs in Queensland, NSW and South Australia.
Mr Unger eventually settled upon the Ferguson's santa gertrudis stud, where he worked for eight months, learning all he could about the cattle.
"They are just the best - experts," he said.
Mr Unger, however, could not get enough of the laidback rural lifestyle and decided to return again this year.
"I wanted to buy some last time I was here but there is no way I could have shipped them home," he said.
The visitor said he was enjoying the Clifton Show and would attempt to try out in the rodeo later in the evening.
"I love Australia. My first impression is that it is organised and clean. I'm so surprised how thankful and respectful people are here," Mr Unger said.
The Ferguson's were equally happy with Mr Unger's effort.
"Kenneth is a hard worker," Mr Ferguson said.
"But he's spread all our bad habits back to Paraguay," he added jokingly.
