Show night to be action packed

THE Killarney Show Saturday night program is jam packed with action with the popular smash up derby following the fireworks.

Smash up derby co-ordinator Paul Fox said they have eight cars nominated for the Saturday night show so far and will take nominations up to 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

Local lads Cody Bartz, Nicholas Lamb and Chris Spindler, who have all watched the derby over the years, will be out in the arena with their own cars. Mr Fox said the smash up derby is set down for an 8.30pm start, after the Calcutta, where people can come along and buy their favourite car or driver.

Paul said the Killarney smash up derby was small in numbers compared with some others, giving people a better chance of winning the Calcutta prize pool.

For further information on the smash up derby, contact Paul Fox on 4664 1154 or 0437 433 253.

Saturday night's program includes motorbikes, hay carting races and chainsaw demonstrations.

Some of the action from last year’s show will be seen again on Saturday night, like the smash up derby which is always popular.
