Sisters ready to roll at Endeavour

LONG-TIME Allora resident Jean Newport will celebrate her 90th birthday on July 13 and is looking forward to seeing family and friends at her daughter Bev O’Halloran’s home on Saturday, July 10.

Following that milestone celebration, Bev, with her sister Lyn Wright and friend Margie Ciccoletti (the Purple People Eater Rally Team), will leave Allora from the front of the Railway Hotel to compete in the heat, dust, mud and flies of the Endeavour Rally 2010, which will run from Burleigh to Bargara, raising money for people with disabilities in Queensland and NSW.

They will be setting off at about 10am and everyone is welcome to come along and wave them off. Bev will be car number 053, one of 10 entrants in the Cruise Class.

This year’s event is the 23rd annual Endeavour Rally, and will cover about 3500km. Competitor registration will take place at Burleigh Heads on the 12th and the event will finish at Bargara on July 22.

So head on over to the Railway on Monday morning and wish the girls bon voyage, and we’ll see them back here in a couple of weeks time.

They may even have their hands on some silverware.
