Six step up to shave for a cure
SIX brave and generous Warwick blokes will go under the shears this weekend in the name of charity.
The Belle Vue Cafe will host a Shave for a Cure event on Sunday, to raise much-needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
The soon-to-be-follically-challenged organiser Jacob Cadman said he had wanted to get involved for a while.
"It's a great cause,” he said.
"And what's the point in sitting back and watching everyone else do it when we can do our part and have some fun in the process.
"And thankfully all the other guys have thrown their hat in the ring to join me.”
Joining Jacob, who said he had grown accustomed to his healthy growing curly locks are
- Eoin Campbell - he may be bald already, but those signature sideburns are in trouble.
- Jamie Smith - the Bunnings staff-member is going the full shaved head.
- Belle Vue owner Mark Favero has been avoiding the razor and the hairdresser for some time in the lead-up to this event.
- Paul Geddes is stepping for the shave as well.
- Shane Stidolph - the long-haired member of the gang has reportedly been without a haircut since last year's Shave for a Cure. 100 points for dedication.
As well, Rhyanna Payne, who shaved her head last year will be taking part.
"She wanted to shave her head again, but we talked her out of it,” Mr Cadman said.
"She's at school and has a few big moments in the future, so she'll just be colouring this year, she's our Colour Queen.”
Mr Cadman said everyone was invited to come along.
"Anyone that wants to get their hair coloured can do so for only $10,” he said.
"Huge thanks must go to Belinda Benz and Charlotte Hockings from Hair Kreations who are donating their time, expertise and hair colour for the occasion.”
The Belle Vue Cafe will also be donating a portion of their coffee profits to the cause, as well as putting on some lunch specials for anyone who heads down.
The event will take place on Sunday from 12pm to 2pm.
