Slatter starts Warwick cricket season well for Redbacks
CRICKET: Coen Slatter hit a quick 33 for Redbacks before rain washed out play in round 2 of Condamine Cup cricket at Slade Park on Saturday.
Batting first, Railway Hotel Rascals scored 109 in 30 overs, Paul Christensen top scoring with an unbeaten 25.
Mark Locke took 3-10 off 2.4 overs while Morgan Gilchrist had figures of 3-27 off seven overs.
Slatter was dismissed just as the rain started with Redbacks 1-50 off seven overs and favourites to win.
Tom Morris took the wicket for Rascals.
Rain ruined what could have been an exciting game at Inglewood with the home side making 94 and having Maryvale-Condamine in trouble at 3-20.
Jamien Smith top scored for Inglewood with 39.
Dave Walker took 2-13 off five overs for Maryvale but the big news was the form of two new players.
