Smoke settles over Warwick as Clumber fire rages

HEAVY smoke haze had blown into Warwick from a bushfire just over the Main Range at Clumber.

Southern Downs residents planning to travel through Aratula today are advised to drive with caution in low visibility conditions.

People in the area are likely to be affected by the smoke and drivers should wind up windows to minimise exposure.

The fire is at a ‘Watch and Act’ level as it threatens properties between Wilsons Rd and Spicers Gap Rd.

Nine crews are on site battling the blaze as it heads in a north-easterly direction.

Roads remain open however greater traffic volume is likely as the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advise Clumber locals to evacuate via the Cunningham Highway.
