Sneak peek at new offering

KIA has revealed its new Cerato small car.

The all-new Cerato is due to go on sale in Australia in 2013 with three different body styles confirmed to be available.

The first, a four-door sedan, is expected to arrive in the second quarter of the year, followed by a five-door hatchback and a new two-door coupe model due later in the year.

The Cerato competes in the crowded and increasingly competitive small-car market against the likes of Ford's Focus, Holden's Cruze, Toyota's Corolla, Subaru's Impreza, Volkswagen's Golf and its sister product, the Hyundai i30, with which it shares its underpinnings.

In terms of styling, the Cerato mirrors recent efforts from the Korean brand, boasting strong design elements including a broad grille, sleek headlights, big tail-lights and a swoopy roofline.

Kia is also claiming increased cabin room, and says the new Cerato will be longer, lower and wider than the current car.
