Social site success for Emma
ONLY two years ago, Severnlea's Emma Lofaro had no idea how to sew, but thanks to the wonders of the world wide web, she now sews everyday and has a following of more than 2000 "friends" on Facebook.
Before she was piecing together pinafores, jackets, dresses and bags, Mrs Lofaro worked at Crazy Clarks for 14 years, working her way up to manager. But when she and husband Alfie started a family, she wanted to so something which would allow her to stay home.
"I am self taught, I just joined a sewing forum and started making clothes for family and friends," she said.
So between playing, feeding, bathing and dressing four-year-old AJ and three-year-old Dominic, Mrs Lofaro draws, cuts, stitches and sews her tiny masterpieces and sells them threw her Facebook page, Emma loves to sew.
"I just do what I can between looking after the boys," she said.
She said it took about a year for things to really ramp up.
"I never expected it to take off," she said.
"Handmade used to be daggy but it's really come back into fashion."
