FESTIVAL FUN: Check out highlights from huge J&J program
EVERY extra second will be needed to make the most of Jumpers and Jazz in July.
This year's program is bigger than ever, with more than 100 events taking place over the Southern Downs region.
What better way to start the 10-day festival than attending the opening night, Winter Dinner concert on Friday, July 20.
Enjoy a meal prepared from the best produce Southern Downs has to offer or come later and dance the night away.
Local jazz artists the Blue Violets and international act Craig Martin and his swing band will be transforming the historic Warwick Town Hall into a sultry blues club for the evening. Guests will be treated to local produce with a free drink on entry and canapes throughout the night.
Event co-ordinator Pam Burley said the Winter Dinner was popular as it was the "glamour" event of the festival.
"Guest have the opportunity to put on their best clothes and go out and enjoy some quality dining and entertainment," Mrs Burley said.
"Local chefs have a mouth-watering feast prepared to show off the best produce the region has to offer."
This year Craig Martin will be transforming some Beatles favourites to suit his swing band.
Jumpers and Jazz in July Inc chairman Dan Noble said the artist was performing an incredible feat.
"He's authorised by music record companies to do his own arrangements of Beatles hits, which is astonishing as the rights to this music is closely guarded," Mr Noble said.
Don't get caught by the fear of missing out if you can't make it to the opening event.
You'll be able to get your blues hit the following weekend at the Morgan Park Raceway Jazz Lounge.
During the Stroll N Swing street market, the town hall will open its doors to locals after a quality glass of wine and great cheeses.
Guest can head in and enjoy the atmosphere of jazz music, with Craig Martin leading a line-up of performances.
Mrs Burley said guests were to receive wristbands allowing them to come and go from the hall.
"Guests are free to explore the activities on the main street and can come back and relax in the town hall when they like," she said.
These events were suited for people looking for something extra, Mr Noble said.
"If you're looking for an excuse to dress up and hit the town, the Winter Dinner is for you," he said.
"If you're after something cosier and wanting to sit back then the jazz lounge will be more your style."
As Warwick's Jumpers and Jazz events grow in reputation around Queensland, the festival is able to attract more interesting and sought-out performers.
"Performers are increasingly keen to get on board and take part," Mr Noble said.
If you haven't had enough, Sunday, July 29, will complete the event, with the Warwick Credit Union's Picnic in the Park, featuring more jazz and fine local food and wines.
