Sophie finds success
AFTER battling the flu and finishing third in the Southern Downs cross country, Warwick West State School student Sophie Follett rose to the occasion to finish runner-up in the Darling Downs titles.
She covered the 3km at Kearneys Spring to run second in 12 minutes, 41.7 seconds.
Last year, she was second at the regionals and 19th in the state championships at Roma.
Sophie will compete for Darling Downs in the state championships in Cairns on July 15-16.
"I want to improve at least one place on last year," she said.
She was one of four from the Southern Downs to finish in the top 10 at Harristown.
