GALLERY: Sounds of Scots choir and pipes head west

THE SCOTS PGC College Senior Choirs and the pipes and drums went on a three- day tour of towns west of Warwick last week.

The tour begun with a dip into "enemy territory on State of Origin night" but friendly at all other times, of course.

The college combined with the MPS school choir and the local highland dancing school to perform a community concert at Moree Public School.

The next day the group travelled to Dalby.

The choirs went to the Dalby Eisteddfod and the pipes and drums went to the Karingal Nursing Home, before joining together once more for a community concert at the Dalby Uniting Church.

At the Dalby Eisteddfod the Senior Girls' choir won all sections and the BVC gained two seconds and a third.

On Friday, the groups conducted an open rehearsal at Dalby Christian College.

They then headed south to perform for the total school population of 49 students at Moonie State School.

The last two concerts were held at St Mary's Goondiwindi.

This was a first for the students. Then came a community concert.

It was such a rewarding experience to see young students and community members enjoying the sounds of the instruments and voices.
