WELCOME 2020: How are you going to spend New Year’s Eve in Warwick?

Southern Downs’ best New Year’s Eve events

WHILE we all enjoy a countdown to the New Year, sometimes the pressure to perfect our first foray into 2020 can get the best of us.

That's why we've broken down the best ways to spend this year's celebration in the Southern Downs.

1) New Year's Eve Steele's Rodeo

If your idea of a great kick-off to the new year involves boot scooting and bull bucking, this is your time to shine.

2019 will signal the start of the Broader Region Buckle Series, in conjunction with the Allora Show Society at the annual NYE rodeo, so why not come down on down and show your support.

WHERE: Warwick Showgrounds

WHEN : Gates open at 4pm, rodeo starts at 5pm
COST: $15 for adults and $10 for concession

2) Fugarwie at the RSL

If rocking out is more your style, the Warwick RSL has you set as the four-piece rock band, Fugarwie rolls in the new year with the head-banging hits.

There will be also plenty of drinks and great tunes to drown out the noise of 2019.

WHERE: Warwick RSL

WHEN: From 8pm
COST: Free

3) Enjoy a night out

Dancing the decade away isn't everyone's cup of tea, so why not just celebrate with a nice night out instead?

Plenty of restaurants and bars will be open until late on NYE including Rupert's Bar and Grill, Warwick Hotel, The Malthouse and the Stockyard Tavern.

WHERE: Up to you

WHEN: Check individual restaurants for opening hours

COST: Prices vary

4) Roar into 2020

Taking it back a century, The Criterion Hotel is ringing in 2020 with style.

The theme of the night is the roaring 20s so bust out your boas.

The countdown will be broadcast during the night as well as lots of other great entertainment on offer.

For more information, contact the Criterion Hotel on (07) 4661 1042.

WHERE: The Criterion Hotel

WHEN: From 8.30pm

5) Live pub music

While Allora's fireworks may not be on this year, the best little town on the Downs is still plenty of fun this New Years Eve.

If a drink and some smooth tunes are more up your alley, the Commercial Hotel will have live entertainment playing until late.

WHERE: Commercial Hotel, 59 Herbert St, Allora
WHEN: From 8pm-1am
COST: Free

6) Get a super start

For those who thought 2019 was pretty super, the place to celebrate its last minutes is at Leyburn's Royal Hotel.

With karaoke going all night, as well as a superhero themed event, there's no reason not to break out some spandex and fly down.

WHERE: Royal Hotel, MacIntyre St, Leyburn
WHEN: From 8pm

COST : Free

7) Shake off a rocky year

The Horse and Jockey Motel's NYE celebrations are perfectly horrifying as the Warwick hotspot welcomes in the year with a Rocky Horror Party.

Dress up as Frank'n'Furter, Brad or Janet and enjoy the night with live music from DJ Nibbsy.

WHERE: Horse and Jockey Motel, Warwick

WHEN : From 9pm - 1pm

8) Get started on those resolutions

Don't let those new year's resolutions go to waste this year as you welcome in 2020 with a park run!

Do one or do the double to truly get a headstart on your 2020 goals.
