Southern Downs Heritage Festival continues success

THE inaugural Southern Downs Heritage Festival has gained plenty of traction in the first five days of the festival.

A successful launch at Warwick's APRA Rodeo Heritage Centre on Thursday led into a successful weekend of events at Allora, but there's plenty more on the calendar in the coming days.

"I'm really pleased with how it's going and the fact so many people came to the launch is a real vote of confidence for what we're doing," Warwick and District Historical Society president Janice Flood said.

"I never could have imagined we would have 24 events in 11 days, and I've already been speaking with people about their ideas for next year."

The Allora Autumn Festival and 150 years of St Mark's celebrations will cap off the festival on April 30 and May 1.

For general information, phone the Warwick and District Historical Society on 4661 3234.
