Southern Downs man arrested for alleged meth possession

A SOUTHERN Downs man has spent the night in the Warwick watchhouse.

The 50-year-old man was stopped on Railway St, Stanthorpe just before 11pm and a subsequent search by police allegedly uncovered 4.3 grams of methyl-amphetamine.

The man was arrested, charged and transported to Warwick to front court this morning.

Stanthorpe Police officer-in-charge Mark Ireland said the man was known to police.
