Southern Downs man 'uses weapon dangerously'

POLICE were called to a home in a small Southern Downs town where a 67-year-old man was allegedly using a weapon dangerously.

Allora Acting Sergeant Matt Shield said he attended the man's home with five other police officers about 8am on Sunday morning.

"He was detained in relation to an incident involving the use of firearm,” Sgt Shield said.

The man was taken to Warwick Hospital for examination and then transferred to Warwick watch house.

He was charged with dangerous conduct with a weapon later and is scheduled to appear in court on April 18.

The man has been given bail.
