Southern Downs netballers on court in New Zealand

SOUTHERN Downs pair Laura Geitz and Clare McMeniman are in the Australian Diamonds team to play the New Zealand Silver Ferns later today in Auckland.

On Tuesday, the Diamonds beat the Silver Ferns 50-44 in the First Test in Christchurch.

The win continued the momentum from the grand final victory by Australia over New Zealand in the World Cup final in Sydney.

It was the second international for McMeniman who played her first netball for the Warwick Netball Association and at Warwick West State School.

This afternoon, the Second Test will be played in Auckland with Geitz again captain as she has been in a golden era of Australian netball.
