Southern Downs rates go electronic

TIRED of shuffling papers?

Property owners now have more options to receive their future rate and water notices, with Southern Downs Regional Council able to deliver them electronically through BPAY View and email.

Southern Downs Regional Council's Manager Finance and Information Technology Andrew Page said the council made the decision to move to BPAY View to provide ratepayers with a simple, convenient and environmentally friendly option to manage their accounts.

"At the moment, Council sends rate and water notices by post, but there are additional ways to access these notices electronically via email and BPAY View," he said.

"BPAY View provides a fast, easy and simple way for you to access and pay your bills. This service is offered alongside our email and postal services."

Mr Page said the delivery of rate and water notices electronically using BPAY view ensured notices were received in a timely manner.

"Using BPAY View means you're able to view your rate and water notices anywhere, anytime, and your bank or credit union will notify you when a notice is ready to be viewed," he said.

"Alternatively, ratepayers wishing to receive their notices by email, can do so by completing an 'Email Authorisation of Rate Notice' form, which is available from Council's website.

"Either way, you'll save time, reduce the costs of issuing paper notices and help the environment along the way."

Anyone that registers for BPAY View or email from now on will have their future rate and water notices issued electronically.

If you have any questions about your rate and water notices, please contact Council on 1300 MY SDRC (1300 697 372) or via mail@sdrc.qld.gov.au.

Download the 'Email Authorisation of Rate Notice' (PDF878.1KB)' form, from Council's website.

For more information about BPAY View or to register for this service, you should contact your financial institution or visit www.bpay.com.au/bpayview.
