Southern Downs swimmers off to state championships
SWIMMING: The Gilmore brothers, William and Toby from The Scots PGC College, are in a group of seven swimmers who will represent Darling Downs in the state championships starting tomorrow in Brisbane.
Brendan Hoffman (Warwick High), Henry Reardon (Assumption), Seamus Ryan (Assumption), Tom Winter (Scots PGC) and Caitlin Skaines (Assumption) will also represent the Warwick area.
William Gilmore was first in three events and second in two at the regionals while Hoffman had a first, three seconds and a third.
Other Warwick area swimmers to compete at the regionals were Cody Hoffman, Hunter Marsh, Larissa Vickers, Kelsey Hoger, Shona McFarlane, Halle Ross, Maddison Ross, Luke Hauff, Cassidy Henry and Emily Craig.
Former Warwick student Bronte Collins now goes to school in Toowoomba and won three gold medals at the regionals.
Top performers from the Border region at the regionals included Ben Armbruster (Stanthorpe High) who won four gold medals and Elizabeth Brown (Goondiwindi High) who won three events and both will compete in Brisbane.
Allora student Molly Harm is at Fairholme and also competed at the regionals.
