Southern Downs voters reject four-year terms

SOUTHERN Downs voters are seemingly not in favour of extending state parliamentary terms.

By 9.30pm, just 2592 voters supported extending terms for Queensland politicians to four-year fixed, while 3193 supported no change to the current three-year unfixed terms.

The interim result comes despite the Member for Southern Downs Lawrence Springborg's and Palaszczuk Government support for the yes vote.
