Sparks fly at RV forum

SPARKS were flying at an open forum last night at King's Theatre on the issue of Warwick potentially becoming an RV-Friendly town.

As reported in the Daily News previously, the Southern Downs Regional Council is considering whether or not to make Warwick - and other towns across the Southern Downs and Granite Belt - RV Friendly.

The RV (recreational vehicle) Friendly tag is one devised by the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia.

The meeting was well attended last night and regularly broke down as people kept standing and interrupting Chamber of Commerce president John Randall.

Mr Randall was forced to threaten to close the meeting at one stage when he was continuously interrupted.

The Warwick Chamber of Commerce was using the meeting as a way to help decide its position on the issue, which it will then present to the council.
