Special weekend sure to be a history buff’s delight

HISTORIC attractions in Warwick and surrounds will take part in the district's first Historical Weekend.

The weekend, organised by Warwick Tourism and Events, coincides with Australian Heritage Week 2014.

All of the Southern Downs' most famous attractions will take part in the event over the weekend of April 12-13.

Locals and visitors alike will be given the opportunity to see the mechanics and workings of yesteryear at the Allora and District Historical Society Display Day.

Even the Southern Downs Steam Railway will be holding an open day.

The packed weekend comes with brand new extras like the heritage and historic building guided walk through the Warwick CBD for a visual history lesson.
