Speedster nabbed 41kmh over speed limit

A SEDAN was clocked on Wednesday travelling 41kmh over the speed limit along the Cunningham Hwy at Gladfield, north-east of Warwick.

The driver was doing 101kmh in a 60kmh zone on day eight of the Queensland Police road safety campaign.

It was one of the fastest speeds clocked in the southern police region, which includes the Darling Downs, Ipswich and the Moreton areas, in the 24-hour period ending at midnight on December 30.

Over that same 24-hour period, 755 people were caught speeding across Queensland.

Police said five vehicles were impounded.

The Christmas road safety campaign started on December 23 and will finish on January 3.
