Spinners are stars of wet cricket weekend in Warwick

CRICKET: It is four washouts in six weekends of Warwick cricket this season.

Every rural area needs rain but this season the majority of the rain has been on Fridays and Saturdays.

Warwick Cricket Association policy is if the Saturday games are washed out, the Sunday game is not played.

There was 19 overs of cricket at Allora on Saturday and spinner Jake Christensen took 3-39 off seven overs to share the Weekend Warrior spotlight with Wheatvale spinner Riley Doherty.

Christensen has continued on from his outstanding form in last season's finals when he helped Railway Hotel Rascals win a grand final in reserve grade.

Maryvale-Condamine was 4-123 when play was stopped with Mitch Darton 44 not out. Michael Bourke was out for 34.

In the game at Slade Park, Sovereign Animals were 6-93 when play was washed out.

Tim Drennert top scored with 23 and Riley Doherty took three wickets for Wheatvale.
