Sponsors jump on rodeo’s wagon
THE Warwick Rodeo is going from strength to strength this year with more sponsors signing up to support the event.
Jack Daniel's has come on board as a major sponsor of the open bull ride this year and Maydan Feedlot is co-sponsoring the Ladies Silver Cup Campdraft.
Warwick Show and Rodeo Society treasurer Julia Kruger said it was exciting to welcome aboard the new sponsors.
"Jack Daniel's sponsor a lot of big rodeos in America so it's great for them to come on board," she said.
"The rodeo is getting bigger each year, which is great for Warwick."
Mrs Kruger said a new segment this year at the rodeo would be events held on the Thursday night.
"There will be men's and ladies buck jumping, mule rides, bare-back pony rides and the ladies steer ride," she said.
"Entry to view these events will only be $10.
"There's some great prize money up for grabs in these events and we are still taking entries," Mrs Kruger said.
Owner of Maydan Feedlot Geoff Willett has been involved in the rodeo on and off for many years.
"I've previously sponsored events and provided cattle," Mr Willett said.
"When I was approached about sponsorship I was happy to help out again.
"I will be providing 50 cattle for the final of the ladies cup," he said.
Mrs Kruger said this year tickets for the rodeo can be purchased online.
"We've got a Facebook page now along with the website and we are engaging with the online community," she said. "There will even be a phone app available soon so people can look up a map of the grounds and get other information."
