Sponsors on board for nationals
AFTER the success of the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup at Warwick, major sponsor Barastoc has come on board again for the 2012 Polocrosse Nationals next April.
Barastoc joins a list of prominent local and national businesses, as well as government agencies, that are getting behind next year's major sporting event.
The Nationals will be hosted by the Warwick Polocrosse Club in conjunction with joint partners the Queensland Polocrosse Association.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and Regional Economies Tim Mulherin visited Warwick recently to present a cheque for $25,000 to the organisers of the 2012 Barastoc Polocrosse Nationals.
This money will help with costs associated in producing a program for the seven-day event, running from April 23-29 next year.
"Regional events are important to local communities all over Queensland including here in Warwick and the Southern Downs area," Mr Mulherin said.
"They generate community pride and attract visitors, supporting local jobs, local businesses and the tourism industry as a whole."
Barastoc is sponsoring the Men's division at the Nationals, while National Transport Insurance (NTI), is sponsoring the Women's division. Shell Australia will sponsor the Open Mixed division.
The Horse and Jockey Hotel Motel in Warwick is the sponsor of the Under 21 Open division, with Downlands College, Toowoomba, the sponsors of the Under 21 Mixed competition.
The Junior Open competition will be sponsored by the Warwick Credit Union.
