LESS coins have been slotted into pokie machines across the Rose City over past months but community organisations are continuing to reap the benefits.

During November, $572,475 was gambled away in pokie machines in Warwick.

In perspective, that pans out to be around $19,000 a day, $1590 an hour or $26 a minute being pushed into gaming machines in Warwick.

Although the numbers may seem excessive, it is significantly less than the $633,283 that went into the machines in October of last year.

But it is not all money down the drain, with a number of organisations receiving a boost through grants funded by the gambling industry.

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is one of a number of schemes that offer one-off grants of up to $35,000 to non-profit organisations on a quarterly basis.

Over the 2008 and 2009 period, the region received a boost of $358, 355 due to the fund, distributed among 12 local projects.

During the last several rounds of funding, grants have been issued to community organisations ranging from $3000 to $30,000.

Some of the biggest winners across the region over the past couple of years were Endeavour Industries and Allora State School, both of which received close to $30,000.

Smaller beneficiaries included the Warwick Bridge Club, Warwick and District Family Daycare, Lion's Club of Killarney, Warwick East Bowls Club and Warwick and District Country Music Club, receiving between $3000 and $10,000 each.
