Rainfall benefits Flower Show

WITH the great rain this season it certainly made for a bright and colourful Spring Flower Show with 390 individual entries.

Warwick Horticultural Society president Graham Gillam said it was one of the best shows they have had in years with plenty of new novice green-thumbs taking up the challenge.

Horticultural judges were impressed with the colourful showing from Rose City residents at this years Spring Flower show.

Les Nicholls and Helen Murray have 45 years of judging experience between them and agreed this was one of Warwick’s best shows in years.

“There are a lot more exhibits than there has been before and the roses are exceptional,” Mr Nicholls said.

“The rain has been good for this area.”

Mrs Murray said although the roses stood out the cut flowers were impressive with more entries in that section than ever before.

“All the entries are of a high standard, I hope the public come along and enjoy the show,” Mrs Murray said.
