Sprint racing on this weekend at Morgan Park
HORSE POWER with Gerard Walsh
THE B drivers in the Queensland Super Sprints will be in action at Morgan Park Raceway this weekend.
After a successful state championship round last weekend that attracted car owners from as far as Victoria, it will be back to sprint racing this weekend.
Greg Beacham drives from up Gippsland three times a year so Queensland driver Ken Filbey can drive his Formula Vee at Morgan Park.
The chances of panel damage are a lot less in sprint racing as the battle is against the clock.
Racing on Sunday to early afternoon. Free admission.
Races coming
THE Allora Cup race meeting will be on today week at Allman Park and the track should be in perfect condition.
Race patrons will be keen to get to the track as it has been a while since the Warwick Turf Club raced.
Due to problems with tracks elsewhere, Warwick had a busy 2016-17 racing year but it now appears to be back to regular meets.
The Warwick Credit Union Warwick Cup meeting isn't too far away either - the second Saturday in October is always the date.
Rodeo action
IT is still six weeks to the start of the Warwick Rodeo campdrafting but there is at least one rodeo in the lead up. The Southern Downs Ag Warwick Cowboys Rodeo is on at Father Ranger Oval on September 23.
On Saturday, the Warwick Junior Rodeo was held at the Warwick Showgrounds.
