St Mary's School plans race day on Saturday

RACING: St Mary's School P and F president Andrew O'Dea expects the school race day promotion to boost the number of patrons by 300 on Saturday at Allman Park.

While the school had race days some years ago, Saturday's meeting will be the second in successive years.

"School parents have organised sponsors for each of the six races,” he said.

"We have all of last year's sponsors on board and a couple of new ones.

"Magic Millions is the major sponsor for the day.

"Our new sponsor The Malt House is sharing a race with Raheen Stud.”

The other race sponsors are Kerry Scanlan Concreting, concrete suppliers Hanson, Brownlie Concreting, R and F Steel Buildings and McNally Constructions.

O'Dean said the P and F was grateful for the support of another 13 sponsors who had supported the children's activities.

"We have a merry go round, jumping castle and a big slide,” he said.

"It is a big family day out with face painting, snow cones and we hope to attract families with children at many schools in the district.”

Gates open at 11am and cost is $15 adults, children under 16 free. All tickets will be sold at the gate.

There is $800 worth of prizes for Fashions on the Field for men, women, boys and girls.
