Stampede of onesies at Condamine River
WELCOMING the winter chills the Warwick Parkrun group is putting on a special themed run this weekend.
For the third year in a row the running group will be rugging up in their onesies.
Co-event director Linda Coombes said participation starts to drop in winter but it's hard to pass up the creative dress up opportunity.
"The first one we hosted it was raining and freezing but people still turned up, last year's weather was a lot nicer."
"We won't lie it's going to be cold on Saturday but that makes it a great day to be in a onesie."
The free social event encourages physical activity and community spirit, encouraging one another to do their best.
"You don't have to run, you can walk, skip or jog as long as you're having a go and enjoying yourself," Mrs Coombes said.
The event, celebrating five years in Warwick this September, sees up to 80 participants on a Saturday morning completing a 5km track around Condamine river.
Expecting to see some creative characters Mrs Coombes said you can come in your pyjamas if there isn't a onesie in the closet.
"I've seen from previous years lady birds, frogs, giraffes, your plane coloured onesies, you can come in a dressing gown if you like."
"It's all about finding a fun way to brave the winter cold," she said.
Parkrun is available for everyone above the age of four to register.
