Stanthorpe dog wins at Clifton

STANTHORPE competitor Dan Bougoure and Fiesta Liz won the open event by one point at the annual Clifton Sheep Dog Trial held in conjunction with the annual show.

The combination scored 192 points to win by one point from Gary Milgate with Cagella Oak.

Wayne Abra was third on 188 with Wilcos Jimmy.

The encourage trial was won by Bony Mountain competitor John Crombie and his dog Camara Petal with a total of 139.

Joe Flynn, of Clifton, was second with Bonpost Gen and Tom Benton third with Buddha on 126.

The novice trial at Clifton was won by Gary Hurtz, of Stanthorpe, with Wolves Emma on 192 from Roy Potticary and Eagleview Ringo on 190 and Abra and Border Lodge Needle on 189.

There was a tie for third in the improvers with Crombie and Cagella Zoe 11 and John Wolfe and Lygajo Suzy on 170 points. The class was won by Garry Barker, of Glen Innes, on 185 from Jack Parr on Aquagold Lady on 183.

A third-day sheep dog trial will be held in conjunction with the Warwick Show on April 9-11.
